HIGHLY ANTICIPATED: This is one of several advertisements promoting Tengai Makyou II–Manji Maru (03.26.1992), the highly anticipated sequel to Tengai Makyou–Ziria (06.30.1989), an RPG credited with legitimizing and popularizing the CD•ROM2 format during its infancy. The CD•ROM2 format launched on 12.04.1988 with software such as No•Ri•Ko and Fighting Street (Street Fighter), but it took 6-7 months before its first bonafide blockbuster with Tengai Makyou–Zira. TRIVIA: Tengai Makyou–Zira was even re-released as a SCD game to promote the introduction of the Super CD•ROM2 format.

Technically a PRPG (pachinko role-playing game). After looking at the screenshots on the back of this game, the RPG element of the game actually intriguess me to no end.

Pachiokun Juban Shobu (HuCARD, 03.13.1992). Ditto, plus bonus for the cover art, which clearly depicts a punk giving our hero, Pachiokun, the middle finger. Also, since smoking is allowed in pachinko parlors, the cover art reveals an innovative design—an ashtray built into the dorubako (winngings box). An elegant solution, indubitably.
