The magazine experienced a shift in format and metamorphosized into Dengeki G's Engine, which no longer focused exclusively on NEC's PCE/PC-FX, but on bishōjo games in general (indeed, the "G" stood for "Gal" and "Game"). A bold magenta announcement alerted readers to the change in format, which probably wasn't a surprise to the PC-FX faithful, who were keenly aware of PC-FX's increasing insularity (competing conoles from Sega and Sony were enjoying massive popularity) and the increasing interest in the bishōjo genre across all platforms…
