Garou Densetsu 2 was the first of four SNK Arcade CD•ROM2 (ACD) games to be released over the course of 1994. Blurbs for Art of Fighting and World Heroes 2 are found in the advertisement above. Hudson could not have chosen better titles to showcase the new ACD format, as SNK's fighting games were popular and received a considerable degree of coverage in the press. In fact, when this issue of Dengeki was on the newstand (summer 1993), SNK was about to release Fatal Fury Special in the arcades (autumn 1993). Later, after spending more than a year in the arcades, Fatal Fury Special became the final SNK ACD game.
